This Parking Deck is designed to accommodate its adjacent Juvenile Court Facility. Its placement takes full advantage of the entry points to the building and to planned future development. Vertical elevator banks and stair towers are the elements of the deck that mimic the courthouse. An elegant pedestrian bridge makes the connection at a mid-level point to minimize circulation time. As a requirement based on an overall masterplan, the deck is designed for lateral or vertical expansion. A precast concrete system made way for the clear spans which allow for uninterrupted parking and increased visual security. The spandrel openness allows for better daytime material lighting which helped in the project’s LEED certification.
