This award-winning Albany State University multi-purpose HPER Facility supports activities related to the Physical Education and Athletic Departments, and for general student recreation and fitness. An emphasis was placed on flexibility and maintaining the facility’s ability to conduct as many functions simultaneously as possible. The HPER Facility is many buildings composed in one complex. The 3-court gymnasium is convertible into a 4,000 seat arena or a 4,800 seat convocation center. Classes and recreational small craft exercises can take place in the stretch pool. Varsity functions are grouped together in a self-enclosed environment integrated into the building and include eight locker rooms, weight training and re-habilitation facilities.
