The Atlanta Civic Center redevelopment project reimagines the historic 19-acre site as a vibrant mixed-use district that will bring together housing, retail, office space, hospitality, public green spaces, and cultural amenities in the heart of Atlanta. The plan will include 975 residential units, 350,000 SF of office space, and 148,000 SF of retail space, as well as over 2,000 combined parking spaces throughout the site. Through thoughtful planning and interdisciplinary design collaboration, GVSA is helping shape a development focused on connectivity, walkability, and long-term community impact.
As part of the master planning effort, the vision for the site emphasizes reconnecting surrounding neighborhoods, enhancing pedestrian access to transit, and creating a more integrated urban environment between Downtown, Midtown, and the Old Fourth Ward. GVSA’s architectural and engineering involvement supports the creation of dynamic, community-centered spaces that balance modern development with the preservation of the Civic Center’s historic identity. The project’s focus on mixed-income housing, public gathering areas, and adaptive reuse reflects a forward-thinking approach to sustainable urban revitalization and reinforces GVSA’s commitment to meaningful, impactful design within the communities it serves.
