The Dorothy C. Benson Senior Multi-Purpose Complex is a 270,000 square foot facility sited on approximately 5 acres in Sandy Springs, Georgia. This complex serves as a focal point for the community, organizing and providing health, social, nutritional, and educational services, as well as recreational facilities and activities for older persons. This complex is designed to address varying stages of aging. There are three different programs in this facility. The main building focuses on the active stage of seniors. There is a large multi-purpose and dining room, therapy pool, billiards room, ceramics and computer classrooms and a library. The neighborhood center implements a more structured program for aging seniors. This building contains a dining hall, sewing room, game room and craft and computer classrooms. The third building in this complex is the adult daycare. This program cares for the elderly and involves them in group activities but also address specific needs of each individual.
