City Views at Rosa Burney Park is a comprehensive renovation of a large affordable housing community located in Atlanta’s Mechanicsville neighborhood. The project included improvements to 181 residential units across a 10-story tower and 11 low-rise apartment buildings, along with upgrades to the leasing center and shared community spaces. GVSA provided architectural services to modernize the aging residential complex while preserving long-term affordability for residents. Renovations focused on improving building systems, updating unit interiors, and enhancing amenity spaces that support resident wellbeing and community engagement. Interior improvements included updated kitchens and bathrooms, new finishes, upgraded lighting, and accessibility improvements designed to accommodate residents of varying abilities. Building systems were also modernized to improve operational efficiency and long-term durability. The project introduced several new community amenities to better serve residents, including a large community gathering room, computer lab, fitness center, and upgraded laundry facilities. Exterior improvements enhanced the overall appearance of the development and strengthened its relationship to the surrounding neighborhood. Funded through the RAD/LIHTC affordable housing program, the renovation preserves critical housing resources while creating safer, more comfortable living environments for residents. The revitalized development now serves as an important housing anchor within the Mechanicsville community.
