This high-profile project is a full renovation of the existing MARTA station at the center of the transit system.  Alterations include the removal of the “Brutalist” concrete canopy and further demolition to open up the main concourse to the adjacent streets and public plazas.  The new station will be capped by a vaulted glass roof spanning between Peachtree and Forsyth Streets. GVSA partnered with Skidmore Owings & Merril (SOM) on the phased demolition, programming, and design and documentation of new offices, public restrooms and spaces for rider services.  The package included developing plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, interior elevations, & interior details, as well as selecting fixtures and finishes.
