Thrive Sweet Auburn is a transformative mixed-use development located in Atlanta’s historic Sweet Auburn district, designed to address the growing need for affordable housing while supporting residents transitioning out of homelessness. The project delivers 117 affordable and supportive housing units combined with 16,000 square feet of office and co-working space. Developed in partnership with Mercy Housing and Project Community Connections, the development provides housing integrated with supportive services that help residents achieve long-term stability and independence. Twenty percent of the units are dedicated to permanent supportive housing for individuals exiting homelessness, and additional units are reserved for veterans. The building’s design responds to the historic character of the Sweet Auburn neighborhood through careful massing and material selection while introducing a contemporary residential environment. Residential floors are organized to encourage community interaction while maintaining privacy for residents. A key component of the project is the integration of service and office space within the building. The headquarters for Project Community Connections is located on the lower levels, providing direct access to support services for residents living above. Completed in 2023, Thrive Sweet Auburn has become a model for integrating housing and services within a vibrant urban neighborhood, helping address Atlanta’s housing needs while supporting long-term community stability.
