Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport Domestic Terminal Ceiling Interior Enhancements modernized a highly visible portions of both the North and South Main Terminals by replacing aging ceiling systems with a new integrated design that improves aesthetics, lighting performance, and long-term maintainability. The project focused on enhancing the experience of over 7,000,000 passengers annually within one of the airport’s most heavily trafficked public spaces while supporting updated building systems and operational efficiency. The new ceiling design incorporates coordinated lighting and material strategies that create a brighter, more cohesive environment while improving wayfinding clarity and visual continuity throughout the terminal. Work was carefully phased during nighttime hours to maintain continuous airport operations and minimize disruption to passengers, tenants, and airport staff. Coordination with existing mechanical, electrical, and fire protection systems was critical to ensure compatibility with the existing structure while improving accessibility for future maintenance.
