Henderson Place is a new affordable housing development designed to expand access to quality housing in Atlanta while supporting long-term neighborhood stability. The project includes a four-story mixed-use building totaling approximately 74,000 square feet and provides 76 affordable residential units for individuals and families. GVSA provided architectural design services for the development, which integrates residential units with supportive community spaces and ground-level commercial uses. The building includes a welcoming residential lobby, community gathering spaces, administrative offices, and building support areas designed to enhance the day-to-day living experience for residents. The residential units range from one-bedroom apartments to larger multi-bedroom layouts, offering flexible living arrangements that accommodate a diverse population of residents. Interior spaces were designed with durability and long-term affordability in mind, incorporating efficient layouts, modern finishes, and energy-conscious building systems. Community spaces were designed to encourage interaction and engagement among residents while providing areas for programming, meetings, and support services. The project also includes outdoor gathering areas and thoughtfully planned site circulation to connect residents with the surrounding neighborhood. Funded through the Georgia Department of Community Affairs 9% LIHTC program, Henderson Place represents a significant investment in preserving housing affordability while creating a welcoming residential environment that promotes community and stability.
